Sounds like your bootable Windows installation is the one w/ the lable Windows 1. You could alaways remove Windows 2 entry off grub.conf I believe. It's wont be bootable anyway.

You sure you typed the file name correctly?
Here's a tip. Type a few characters from the name of the file, enuff to differentiate the file from other files in that directory, and hit tab.

Probably you need to su -. Also for a command that's not in root's command path, use ./command_name
eg #./configure

I beleieve you'll have to specify which disk you'd want to fdisk.
#/sbin/fdisk /dev/hdX -l
If you have these installed, you might want to use cfdisk or sfdisk too. cfdisk has a nicer interface...
