I am using an initrd to boot. I had problems with this and cramfs, so I am now using genromfs with this line in /etc/mkinitrd/mkinitrd.conf:

I'm trying to upgrade my kernel on Debian to 2.6.8. I've down.loaded the source, compiled, set up Lilo and rebooted. When selecting the new kernel in Lilo it starts to boot and then this:

The problem was that postfix was not sending the mail to procmail, it was just delivering it directly!

Just in case anyone else has the same problem.

Thanks for the tip. Still no joy though. I ran rpm -Uvh --force init... and it seemed to run fine, on rebooting though it still has the same problem.

Well I've got one of my drives working correctly now and rpm -ivh initscripts-6.91-10mdk.i586.rpm --replacefiles
gives me "package initscripts-6.91-10mdk is already installed"

I am using LILO, the part of it that is booted is:

I am using devfs so it has to be something in my kernel config, but I can't see from my previous post anything that isn't enabled.

I've tried mknod hdc b 22 0 and still no luck. Mandrake Control Centre Hardware list is still showing the drive as /dev/scd0.

I've upgraded my kernel and I can't get my DVD/CD drive to mount. I'm using Mandrake 9.0. When I first boot the system I was getting a message that supermount was not complied into the kernal so I...

/etc/rc.d/init.d/network seems to point to /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts for the network functions then it looks for ifcfg* and there are only two of these, eth0 and eth1.

I couldn't find the rpm...

I'm using Mandrake 9.0 so etc/sysconfig/networking/profiles/ifcf-ethX doesn't exist, but I checked /etc/modules.conf and there is no reference in there either.

I've just reinstalled my kernel and having struggled with a few problems everything is working, except for this error which keeps occuring whilst booting up.

I get the same error for eth2 - eth9!...

I've set up lilo to have an option for this new kernel, as well as my old one.
