If you have the restricted drivers set up, go ahead a get nvidia-settings

pacman is the Archlinux package manager. That's why you're getting that error.

My build is almost identical to that, except I have an ASUS board. Everything should go just peachy. Make sure to get Nvidia's drivers for that GPU, though.

i develop in C and Perl on Ubuntu 8.04. Once you do an 'apt-get install build-essential' it's perfect.
