did you edit the line in /etc/group? Then logout, then relogin or reboot?

Do you need/want them mounted at boot time, this way you can avoid worrying about mounting/umountint as a user. To do so, just edit your /etc/fstab to mount the partition at boot time.

It appears that you aren't a member of the "user" group.

Add yourself to the line that says

users::100:games
so that it looks like

make an alias in /home/your_user/.bashrc.

Are you sure your everyday user is a memeber of the wheel group, and also of the user group? Check your /etc/group file, or post it here (change user names :) ).
