Reading between the lines in my last post? I didn't say I knew more than you, did I? I said habits can be unlearned in response to your saying you know you're current habits "like your own name"...
-
Just because it's a habit doesn't mean it can't be unlearned...
-
Well, for one the link is dead... perhaps this is why you haven't gotten any replies... I use GNOME myself so KDE 3.3.2 isn't too big of a deal to me...
-
When I tried Suse I just used the mozilla.org build and installed it to /usr/local... I'm not sure why he rpm isn't working... did it need any deps?
-
Well, I have 3 lines but one' s blank... so, does that even count as 3?
-
yeah, those underscores were killing me;) I just saw no point in having a pseudonym for myself any more and I'm rbimhall over at the ubuntu forums as well..

try deleting your .mozilla folder in ~/. The error when trying to run is root is not firefox related... AFAIK... it just means you can't run gui as su - root.

to answer a couple of your questions:
rc.M is the slackware script that defines the start-up process. It starts all of the processes like alsa, hotplug, etc as I remember... perhaps a current...

I wholeheartedly agree with tlyons. Debian would be a good choice... and is much easier to install these days... and since it seems like you won't be using X anyways you can avoid the fluff...
-
My 2 cents:
Option1:The standard alsa in slackware was always a little buggy for me... I would always go and download from source and build it myself specifing only my soundcard. Something along...

Fedora core 3 or Red Hat might be good since you can set up a kickstart installation for so many computers to automate the process.

A wake up as long as they read the register;) Or has this reached some larger news sources now?
-
The only problem with choosing the debian default installs (desktop, workstation, et al) are that you will get an abundance of stuff installed (Kde and GNOME for the desktop install for instance)...
-
I saw this the other day on the register as well... I know that many schools have the cameras so that parents can check in on their little ones while at work but passwords should obviously be used...
-
So, blackbelt? Have you begun working on your novel or or you delving into the world of custom linux live cds? Just curious, I've been following this but you haven't mentioned the novel in awhile...;)
-
One final word. I think this suggests you were trying to be someone's something;)
-
So, since I redit I'm angry? How about... I'm a bad typist? I was editing to make the posts make sense not to change what I have said... anyways, you're obviously projecting your perceptions onto me...
-
For one, I'm not angry... I may not like you based on your actions thus far (all semantics aside, you experimented on the forum users... you can call it what you want... but like I said previously,...
-
I think the reason that MD is associated with his avatar is b/c on the forums your avatar is sort of like a picture of you. A graphical representation of your screen name. Others may use actual...
-
Hopefully I'm taking this the wrong way but are you saying that your whole reason for using MD's avatar and starting this thread was in order to see how members would react to "gauge where people...

Glad I could help... and Cagliostro is my favorite as well... though the tv series 2nd season is pretty funny.

Grip can rip and encode to any directory you choose see the docs on the link below:
