Anther thing you could do is, reseat the CPU cleaning off the thermal greese and putting fresh stuff on. My Athlon XP machine just would not boot, couldn't figure out why, and the above worked.

I haven't used SAMBA but it may be possible to set up samba on ur machine and then use the windows XP machine as a internet gateway. All one would need extra is a crossover ethernet cable to connect...

we tried installing it on the university computer in our /home drive. The experience was not nice. In the end I ended up installing trillian on my usb pendrive.
