Because it resets _everything_ not just your wifi password.
However, if you don't have the password, the chances are you're scuppered and will need to do it anyway.

The big question is "what are you looking for from a distro?"
Contrary to popular myth, Gentoo won't make things blisteringly fast on any machine. The main reason, I believe, for using it is if...

I don't think that's true. I admit that the Ubuntu LiveCD is a bit awkward, but when it works the installation is dead simple. And as for "terminal fiddling" I honestly don't believe it is necessary...

However, take a look at this Linux.com article on using OpenOffice.org to do text...

Oh, and I just found OutKafe which, unlike the others, seems like it might be actively maintained.

Take a look at some of the cybercafe software out there - there is usually a management system, and then some sort of client daemon that logs the PC out when the time has expired.
I looked at...

You can use the chage command, eg:
chage -E 2007-05-10 knarf_foo
See the chage man page for more details.

Discovered Warzone2100 the other day - a RTS game that was originally sold commercially, but has now been GPLed. It's great fun (if you're into RTS).

There's a good article on screencasting with Linux using virtual machines at http://popey.com/Creating_Screencasts

it's definitely worth checking the heat thing - clean out your heatsinks and fans, and check that they are all working ok.
