That's what I thought, but both ways looked funny. Thank you for the thorough explanation.

int main()
{
char first[] = "This is a ";

I laughed at the shirt

Thanks for the tips, I will try this tomorrow after I get home from exams. BTW: WINE held me for a while, but now I need actual windows utilities and such, so windows is a must :(

Even on Windows I don't have icons on the desktop. When I used Windows (I don't have it anymore) I just had panels on all four sides of the screen with shortcuts. My desktop had 3 icons, "My...

You need to say who your distribution is. But the services are not going to be the same name under /etc/init.d. For example, http is usually provided by apache.

I think in 2 years Linux will surpass the fame that Apple has w/ their Mac. Not mainstream, but acknowledged. Its about that time that most companies will start (in my opinion) releasing products...

I know UT2K3 is coded for multiple processors! (It ditches sound off to the second). So it'd still help a bit....you could be running a dedicated server on the same machine, I guess. While...

Ah. I understand now. Sorry.

No, I really don't think it is. Open source is a philosiphy, just one MS doesn't agree with. I don't like their tactics, and I don't like their products, but I do have a certain amount of respect. ...

I'm looking at both, and yes, I know they are different things, but I'm leaning towards the digital camera. Anyway, I've had a bad experience w/ older video peripherals with linux in the past, and...

I'd just want to see the comments. I mean things like
/* XXX - I have no idea why this is here, its been here since 3.1, it has no apparent function in the workplace, but removing appears to...

"du -sh `ls -a`" (without the quotes, though the ticks are important) will show exactly where all the space is going in your current directory. Useful if you know a folder is large, but not what is...

I just _had_ to think of some way this could be useful, but the only thing I could think of would be for windows (or I guess WINE, but you could just use loopback.iso files for wine). Anyway, you...
