hay, what is different between mapis and knoppix may I ask? To me they both seem to be debian based live cds with the kde desktop.

all I have done to stop these bots is forwarding port 1234 on the router to port 22 on my pc. That works well.

yes, I have realised this. My problem tho is that the partitions under hda are not apperaing in /dev, only the harddrive hda itself.

have you checked the md5 sum on the iso you have downloaded?
