Okay, I'll read through that guide. Thanks.
Last question - is there a way to have the USB Drive (and other USB devices) mount automatically when I plug them in? I've looked, but people...

Okay, well, I now can use/access the drive. I'm still curious about UDEV - but I don't want to break anything in the process. (It's happened before.)
Anyway, here's a good guide for people who...

Oooooooooo...
That seems to have helped. I didn't have the "Event Interface" support provided. Now, when I plug in my USB Thumb Drive, I get this message --
So, I'm guessing I can get to...

Hm. Maybe it doesn't matter that I'm getting this message. I plugged in my USB Thumb Drive, and I get this message back via dmesg...

So, I...

Okay, here's one of the messages I get after I emerge hotplug...
I don't know if that has anything to do with anything. I have tried emerging coldplug as well. But, I don't think that...

Well, I originally had hotplug emerged, but this problem still seemed to occur. I'll give it another shot and see what comes up. I'll post back in a bit.

No...I never touch the BIOS, so everything should be fine there. I'm not exactly sure how to test this, but...things *should* be okay.
Thanks for your help. Haha...you definitely know what...

Yes, I am using udev. I have hotplug base installed, but I uninstalled hotplug (either way, I get the same error).
I'm not sure how to test if root can access.

Well, the mice & keyboard work - but they're plugged in right from the beginning. (The mouse is plugged into one of the hubs. The keyboard is plugged into the back of the computer.)
It just...

After I bootup and run dmesg, I receive this error (if it actually is one) at the bottom of dmesg:

Yes...it is. The moderators blocked out that word 'cause they don't want everybody to follow the ******. :p

You should use the plugin xmms-crossfade plugin. (libcrossfade.so)

Works excellently for me.

...and then I look at the porn I get from it.

Yeah...just FYI - once you have been rooted (or even suspect it), you really can't trust anything on your system.
It stinks, I know. But, this is why it's important to practice good security...

I'm currently using Evolution as my calendar/e-mail/do everything type application. However, I want to split the functionality up among smaller programs. I was wondering if anybody could recommend...

Well, I didn't do as much checking as I am doing now, but I know I could never get my camera recognized before I switched to UDEV. So, that's why I didn't think it was udev causing the problem. (In...

So, I'm curious -- is there any way (script, or something of that nature) to hide your information (or change it) as to where you are coming from in XChat -- WITHOUT using proxy servers.
It seems...

Well, I've had all those set at some point. Still receiving that error when I boot.
This is kind of maddening 'cause there seems to be no reason for the issue. :(

I have an interesting problem. I am using udev on a Gentoo system and I'm trying to get it to recognize my digital camera. However, I'm having an interesting problem -- I'm not even sure my USB...

Since I always like to respond if I solve the problem (and I never did to this one) I'm bringing it back from the dead.
Yes, if you have the XMMS Crossfade plugin, you can tell it to write one big...

I would attempt to boot off Knoppix and tune your settings back down (reverse your changes). You can mount your Slack drive in Knoppix.
Good luck.

Is there a free program that generates EJB CMPs for MySQL database?
Thanks

Yeah, this is what I was referring to. I *know* the WinZip/RAR/etc. passwords are very weak. I mean, I don't *know* personally or anything. I mean...I know 'cause...um...someone told me. Yeah! ...

Yes, it is possible.
I would think (though I don't know for sure) that it would be a little more difficult.
There are programs that you can use to encrypt a file one time, and when the person...
