Not true -- I will give them MEPIS or knoppix where they will be able to configure if they could configure windows's installation -- and easier than windows.

Linux may be easier for the normal users to use it they had idea and learnt linux first. it really matters what they learn first as they grow attached to things and are reluctant to change.

thats probably you had not used it for real usage. Maybe you had, but I must have hanged or lagged on you. Its mentioned all the time that in NT M$ increased the timeout for BSODs and it reboots too...

Sure, NT has less BSODs, but does it occur to you that NT is still hanging? its laggy and most of the time it BSODs! NT could be stabler than 9x but the problem lies -- there is still numerous BSODs....

On the point on easy installation, had anyone tried installing knoppix or other live-cd based distro? Its just insert cd, boot computer and set computer to install itself. Now that is a feat windows...
