linux vga=0 as a boot option especially if you have 1gb or more of ram.

You can try this.It worked for me when my Mandrake9.1 wouldnt do a graphical install.

When you get to boot options(F1 I think) type in linux vga=0 .

SuSe is a good distro.I never had any luck with it but Ive read where others really like it.I prefer Mandrake for easy installation and set up.Debian is pretty easy for a mid level(?...lol) distro.
