ther thing is that I got that USB modem for "free",
"free" chained me to my ISP for 6 months :(
so If I'll buy the Ethernet card and the Alcatel ADSL modem it will be as if I commited to that ISP...

I have red-hat 7.3 and my USB modem is- Askey Model- ALE 070.

I've already checked if there's a support for this particular modem\manufactor and I found none...

in Windows I connect using WAN...

the only thing that I found on www.linux-usb.org was a driver for some ASKEY modem and his status was "X" (means not working)

that person told the support team, of that company who sales that Modem, that he'll tell him how to do it, and never called again......

the company who provide my kind of USB modems is trying to make a driver for it to work on linux, but untill then....

what do you think about the thing that the guy, that i talked about in the 1st...

yes, ican switch to using a ethernet card (NIC) and a ADSL modem that plugs into the NIC, but i'll have to buy an ethernet card and a ADSL modem that plugs into the NIC.
