    Anyone know the nm command?

    Can someone tell me the difference between the .a and .so libraries that 'make' makes, and what the nm command tells you about the library? (what do the letters mean - does 'U' mean not compiled in?)...

    Anyone have GD in PHP working?

    I have just about given up trying to get the jpeg, png, and freetype2 libraries into GD so that I can get them into PHP. Anyone out there that can offer some help?
