symbolic links have to be supported by the file system. It has nothing to do with samba. How are you trying to make the link? And what file system are you using?

u can always turn rm into a naggy windows like del if u alias it 'rm -i'.. but i would NOT recommend it.. just imagine getting used to it and expecting it to ask u on a computer without the alias..
