ok so you found the dos emulator i was on about which does NOT contain fdisk

ok , so where in win xp do i find a dos prompt because there is no dos with xp, there is only a dos emulator which does not have the ability to run fdisk, which in turn since there is no dos is not...

Lol love suse website advice it says....

open yast control center
go to hardware
go to partitioning

this is where it shows this was updated in 1999 since there is no patitioning section under...

since i have 85gb of info on my xp partition which i dont want to lose obviously i am not going to format my drive!!

Ive even got the alcatel usb modem working with a couple of small snages but ill start a new thread for that one!!!:rolleyes:

ive managed to get into a file using vi and added the line i wanted to but i cant find a way to save the file with the new line :(

Any ideas???

All i did was go into expert mode in the installation, I didnt disable anything i just carried on a routine installation from...

ive just tried installing suse 9 which i downloaded and the first time it reboots it hangs on "starting hotplugging services [ ieee 1394 net pci usb ........."

then it just sits there doing...
