Along these same lines, here's an error message a buddy of mine got from an Alienware XP install (using the OEM CD that came with the system).

SuSE and Fedora Core 2 are ready to go (FC2 may require some yumming first).

It's not the people at Google doing this. Google for google bombs for more info. But first, google for "french military victories" and hit I'm feeling lucky :)

If you're using a 2.6 Kernel, you'll have to modify the driver source code for 3D acceleration to work (at least that was the case when I installed mine).

In short, "usermod -G groupname username"
If that doesn't make sense, man usermod.

Here's a formal petition to ATI complaining about their piss-poor Linux support...

Sorry if this has already been posted, I did a quick search...

No, what he has should work for 2.6 kernel. It'll tell you when certian 'make's are deprecated.
Just to double check, did you really use 'make moduules'? If so, that should be 'make modules'. ...

I didn't really know where else to stick this. This is one of my co-worker's NTFS drives. Funny thing is, we're an ISP, and he's OUR IT guy :)

Crack open /(UT's dir)/System/UT2004.ini and scroll down to the [SDLDrv.SDLClient] section, and find these variables:
FullscreenViewportX=800
FullscreenViewportY=600
Change those to 1024 and...

That red line above in your script is causing your users.txt to be run as a script, with the output piped to /root/lankfordu/www/cgi-bin/add. I'm not really sure what you're trying to do from that...

Google for "advanced bash scripting guide". That's easier to read than the bash man page, and it's all broken down into categories with examples.

I'd use perl, but sed works too. Either of these will work from a shell...
perl -pi -e "s/string_to_nuke//g" filename
OR
sed -i "s/string_to_nuke//g" filename
Perl's a bit quicker, and...

Newegg.com has them in the $75 price range. You might also keep an eye on bensbargains.net every day for a few weeks. That site catches some pretty crazy "one day only" type of deals.

Wow. It's amazing that people have enough spare time for organized Slashdot trolling, and even more amazing that it's widespread enough for a Wikipedia write up.

For future reference, you can also just run "hostname something_else" as root to change your hostname to something_else.

Using "exec" in your .bashrc is probably causing the Mozilla process to be tied to the login shell, so closing Mozilla kills the login shell as well. Remove "exec" from the script and you should be...

I just edited that post to fix the stop() funciotn. It didn't work for BFV/BF1942 servers using the BVSM/BFSM for server management.

Wasn't sure if this should go in "How I did it", but this forum said to share your code here, so here it is.
This is a really useful and versatile init script I wrote for running game daemons. ...

lol, good point
Yeah, could be. Our provider said the BIOS settings are identical on this box vs. our other server with the same hardware.
The eth1 interface looks fine, so I might just...

Thanks for the tip. Actually, ethtool can't get anything either. I see what you mean about mii-tool not being able to even poll basic info from the card - 00:00:00 wasn't a vendor last time I...
-
Cool, thanks. I know mii-tool supports this adapter (3Com 3c980-TX 10/100baseTX), so I'm having our provider check the cabling, as well as confirming that PnP OS is disabled in the BIOS. I'll post...

I'm trying to resolve some major speed issues on a new server I'm leasing, and I'm not quite sure what's going on here...

Those are all from DeviantART. Uranus, just look at the abstract wallpapers there, and sort by favorites.

Thanks guys!
Just FYI, a regular echo doesn't work, because I don't have a regular command prompt running on that screen. I have a game server running in the foreground on that screen, and I'm...
