the other thing you can do, is remove the symlink to x/k/w/gdm in that runleve. on debian it's /etc/rcN/ where N is the runlevel (default on debian being 2)

skipstone does everything except ssl certificate accepting.
however! it does do ssl. if you go to the site in mozilla, and then copy the files over to ~/.skipstone/mozilla then it'll work...

i don't think linking to the configuration file will help you any. it's a text file that contains the configuration for apache.
you might try linking a location where the webserver reads files...

if you use kde with blackbox, i don't think it will respond as fast as you're loving right now. kde is a hog. blackbox is in the.. definitly not a hog section.

in your home directory. create a .xinitrc file (assuming you don't use somthing like kdm, gdm, wdm, xdm...., then i think it's the .Xsession file? maybe?...
