Sorry dkeav, you're right.
Ions, you're actually right too about how Ubuntu "gives purposeful direction". Yeah, and if I did install Slackware, I'd only tweak it to be almost identical to Ubuntu...

Hey guys (and girls),
I have been using Linux for ages now and I would call myself an advanced user (I can find my way around new distros and solve all major problems I come across) but I have a...

DVDs are an awful problem with the OS community due to their licensing restrictions. Installing libdvdcss2 from http://debian-unofficial.org will probably do the job though!

A very good hack I found: if you want high res, boot knoppix, copy /etc/X11/XF86Config to your local hard drive /etc/X11.
If knoppix booted in 1024x786 (eg.) you will have that on your local...

Thanks... but thanks, I've decided to stick with the "stable" release.
When a new Debian stable comes out, will KDE be updated with no errors, or will there be errors like when I tryed to go to sid?...

KDE doesnt work, Gnome does however...

I know now that you...

Does anyone know how to (e.g. through experience) create their own custom Knoppix variation?
I want to make a Knoppix variation like Feather Linux but centered around p2p clients etc......
