You should be the root user with root paths to use insmod. Try running them after using "su -" to get root access.

Use locate, and find where the "java" executable is. On my RH 7.2 system, it installed in
/usr/java/j2re1.4.0_01/bin/java
I just symlinked that executable into my normal path (/usr/bin)
