if you need e-mail client application works both on win and lin, try Mozilla Thunderbird its light and no setup required. Use 'mbox' format so you can import all you e-mail to evolution in the future.

Tried Lindows once, few month ago. Very easy to install but lacks of many good applications and working on Linux with root ID is not a good idea.
Knoppix is easier and more usefull applications...
