    Problem shutting down

    Hi,

Linux newbie here! When I shutdown Linux, it gets stuck on "shutting down interface eth0" and just sits there.

I have to manually reboot myself.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Luke

I go to the menu in Windows X and select Log off and then shutdown.

Sorry I have only just started getting to grips with Linux!

try as root "shutdown -h now" to shutdown

and "reboot" to reboot, as root aswell.

    does that work for you?
