Which Browser
I dont know if this is in the right forum or not but here goes!!!
Some advice for a Linux Newbie folks...
...Which is the best browser to use for linux???
Cheers

I prefer Firebird. I loved tabbed browsing!!!

obviously you won't get internet explorer..
mozilla and opera are the two biggest..
opera has a pay-for-me version that does not have any built in ads, but the free one does..
mozilla is the successor to netscape, and is a very good, featured package like netscape communicator
mozilla firebird is a browser only, and is faster that mozilla (as in it starts faster, and responds quicker to commands), its also smaller, which is an added bonus
all three have large followings, and if you have trouble with any of them, there will be someone who can help.
firebird seems to be the most commonly used one now, as apparently most people used original mozilla, and have now migrated to firebird...
personally i prefer firebird.. but its all down to personal preference..
[edit]
oh yeah.. the websites are:
mozilla.org (firebird and original)
opera.com

-Konqueror integrated with kmail. Great that you can split the screen, surf the web on one side and acccess your hard drive on the other side.
-Mozilla with it's multiple account support, and widespread plugin availability
-Opera for it's speed and general user friendliess, not crazy about their email client, but it will get better.
all get my vote. I use all three.
Will have to try firebird sometime.

Konqueror, Mozilla, Opera: in no particular order; depends on what's handiest at the moment. Netscape as a last resort (it's soooo00000 slow). I've heard folks praise other browsers, but I figure, since mine do the job for me, why bother with others without some compelling reason. (Of course, if the itch to try something new comes along, I still have that option, at much less expense, than the windo$e environment offerings).

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Galeon yet!
It's based on Mozilla and Gnome and has tabbed browsing and mouse gestures. Definately the way forward.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the text browsers yet.
Actually, I'm posting this from w3m right now, because firebird had some wierdness in it,
and I don't feel like tracking down what's going on and fixing it.
FYI: The fonts got big and kept getting bigger, so I killed it, and opened a term window,
and started w3m to make this post.
Yeah. w3m is my favoriteest text browser. I also have links-ssl on here.
There's also lynx.
Another good thing about having a text browser is that they are handy for when you have man
pages that are in html format. It's quicker to open them in a text browser than in a graphical
one.
My 2 cents.

Is w3m is the best text browser
I haven't used any text browser so I thought of tryinga nd learning them as I guess they must be faster if I work from home on a dialup.
So is w3m is the best?
What most people do recommend?

Text browsers are small so why not install and try all of them?
