    re-read .bashrc and .bash_profile

    Please tell me the command to re read the .bashrc from the console.

    I'd like to have Linux recognize the changes I've made WITHOUT rebooting.

    Several years ago, I was working with solaris 2.2.-2.5 and had a command to re read the .cshrc and it would recognize the edits I'd made without rebooting

    I don't know the command of which you speak, but you can just log-out and log back in. Beats the heck out of rebooting.
