I wouldn't consider one app going wonky (which happens from time to time), and disabling your ability to use the entire computer to the point where a reboot is REQUIRED to be the right tool for any job more than either paperweight or doorstop.

Post Microsoft sues Google over employee "stolen away" from them.

So Microsoft is not only having trouble keeping employees (who wouldn't with the stock flat lined for three years!),those fleeing employees are not honoring their no compete agreements.

These guys are not supposed to be competing against us!!

Combined post: Other breaking MS troubles....

Sales numbers may be highly inflated because many PC's are sitting idle or destoryed because of spyware!

How many PC's are being counted as active that no longer exist by MS in market share numbers?

    Question

It's amazing how much hate people can have for an OS. I'm a Windows admin who loves Linux. Ya Windows is a pain in the a$$. It exist for the clueless end users mostly, and there's alot of clueless end users the keep me employed. I implimented a linux solution to turn P1 233mhz PC's into dumb clients for Windows 2003 terminal server. PC's boot from the NIC into a terminal session. Making linux & windows work together . What a concept!

I hate Microsoft for its sneaky underhanded changes they make to MY OS without MY permission.

For instance....if you setup an SNTP server and configure your MS OS to use your own internal time server, or even if you point to a web based server....one of the blasted MS Updates (don't know which one 'cuase non of them have ever said, oh, by the way...)will change your SNTP client settings to use time.microsoft.com, which rarely works and is never set to the same time as my domain!!!

This is done without my knowledge, permission or desire. If time starts to drift, machines loose the trust with the domain, logs are out of sync, and ...etc...etc.....etc...

MS Products Don't Like IE Either

I just had this pop up on my workstation and thought I'd share with the group. Seems even MS firewall doesn't like Internet Explorer.

    lol it is funny but...

it says do you want to KEEP blocking the program... which means someone blocked it before and its just doing what you (or someone else) told it to do...

Actually, the Firewall enabled itself (sometime thing morning) since I've the only one with access to my laptop. Maybe it autoinstalled an MS update or something.

I had the same thing happen the other day with an update from MS. I think it was a codec or something.

Very nice. It means that the Firewall, really works. It identifies potentially malicious software accessing the internet.
