Unhappy slackware 13.37 install not detecting my optical drive

Hello everyone, im fairly new to this but when attempting to install slackware from a dvd i have been able to partition and everything but when it comes time to choose the source and scan for the cd it doesn't detect my cd drive. I don't think it's the dvd because i could use the installer from a virtual machine. Ive been at this all day and have made no progress and i don't know what the problem is. I have 1 optical drive and 2 hard drives all are sata, if anyone could help me i would be extremely grateful.

So, are you saying your CD drive doesn't detect your DVD disc?

I thought I made a mistake once, but, of course, I was mistaken.

I've had this happen before, with mine my cd/dvd player was going bad. The first thing I would do, is burn another copy of Slackware on a slow speed, try it again, if it still doesn't work and you have a spare drive replace it and see if that works. I've yet to find a pc that slackware would not install on.

Thank you for the response but i solved the problem, I had to change sata mode from IDE to AHIC. I can't believe i missed that, lol.
