Remmina on Ubuntu 12.04 liveCD will not connect to Mint-debian home PC

    Hi,

I have the above issue, hope you can help.

I have installed XDRP, OpenSSH, Vino (VNC), NAT'ed to the static IP of my home-PC and also allowed port 22 TCP in my routers' firewall. What exactly do I need to do more here? Do I need to use a very specific set-up on my home PC to connect to it by Remmina, because Remmina requires a very specific set-up to work? I get the message: "Could not connect to RDP server" from Remmina. I have also set desktop sharing settings as attached and tried disabling the firewall to rule that out. I can't seem to find a Remmina server-application that can be installed to "catch the ball", but there must be a way.

    Thx for reading,

You can't use RDP when connecting to a linux system.
    Instead configure vnc in Remmina.

As mentioned, I already have Vino installed on the remote PC.

Again: I can't seem to find a Remmina server-application that can be installed to "catch the ball", but there must be a way.

    - and what is that way?

Yes but you say you get the message: "Could not connect to RDP server" .
You're not to connect to a RDP server, you want to connect to a VNC server.
