Hello!
This is my first posting, and although I have dabbled with Linux, I think I am still somewhat of a beginner.

I have a widescreen monitor, with a native resolution of 1440 x 900. The graphics card is a Radeon 9000 series and the PC is showing it's age! I have tried various versions of Puppy, and all of them allow a setting of 1440 x 900 (albeit in the extended display choice) and the display is perfect. Other distros, however, don't have that choice, and so the display is distorted. I have tried looking for drivers on AMD's website but with no success. Why can Puppy do it and not others? My latest distro is Trisquel which works fine apart from the display distortion, and all of the others I have tried give the same problem.
Any help much appreciated.
