Dial-up modem set up.
Hello, I'm new to the linux world and I need some help with dial-up set up.
1. Configuration
Computer: DELL Optiplex GX280
Internal Modem: LSI Corporation LT WinModem (rev 02)
Linux OS: Mint 16 xfce-dvd-32bit
Additional software installed: gnome-ppp
2. "gnome-ppp > set up > detect" doesn't find anything regardless of device/type/speed chosen or TTY tinkering in the BIOS.
3. Terminal command "lspci -vv" find the exact modem as specified above.
4. Is there a driver for this modem model somewhere?
5. Replacing modem with Conextant "SoftV92 DataFaxModem" yields no change.
6. The same system works fine with Windows XP.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome.
Check out the following links. It will identify your MODEM so you can determine which driver is required. I do not know if these drivers still work with a 3.0. kernel.

Thank you for the links, especially the second one.
