    Xubuntu wireless

I am trying Xubuntu on an old 2009 Laptop.

I went to Network Manager and under SSID put in my network.
I went to security and had these choices
    None
    WEP 46/128-bit Key
    WEP 128-bit Passphrase
    Leap
    Dynamic WEP (802.1)
    WPA&WPA2 Personal
    WAP & WPA2 Enterprise

I tried all of these - putting in the password that my windows/smart phone use but it did not connect.
I live in the UK and have a Virgin media superhub any ideas? I have googled it.

Normally the desktop should have a small icon telling you the detected wireless choices. Select the one you have access to and supplied the password there. It should work exactly like Windows or smartphones.
