yumex crash/abort Gtk-WARNING
had this for a while now, have no clue; am new
reinstalled yumex but still broken; any ideas?

Do you have the pygtk packages installed? The output of 'rpm -qa | grep gtk2' will tell you, if you can't figure it out post the output from the command.
Are you trying to run a GUI application as root under you normal users account? Do you have python installed? Have you tried reinstalling yumex?

yum install yumex_package
I've never used yum, but that's what I've found on the net, if there are a number of yumex packages, try:
