    k... sorry for the title but ....
    i'm not *NEW* to linux.. nor am i a guru.. i love linux and wouldn't give it up for anything.. but drake 8.0 has been really bugging me.. in their attempt to win people over they are driving me crazy. does anyone know how to get rid of the purple startup screens.. i changed my video card and now i can't boot cuz the new video card can't do the FrameBuffer thing.. /etc/lilo.conf has been changed but the lilo screen itself is a fb screen too. grr. + my changes to lilo.conf don't seem to take effect.
    please help

    In order for your changes to lilo.conf to take effect, you must run lilo again. Become root and type "lilo" after you've made the changes.
