wanted - dead socket 3 mobo (486)

i need the cache chips from a 486 mobo, anybody got a broke one?
if you can pull the cache chips and just give me those it will save shipping
but if you bend up the pins, then maybe it would be safer to send the mobo

I have a 486 board that is just collecting dust (I'm assuming all 486s were Socket 3 though). If you want it let me know, this is a newer board (has 4 pci slots) so I don't know if it is what you're looking for.

Does it have to be socket 3?? I've got an old socket 1 that I'd be happy to pull the chips off for you. Or if you want I'll just send you the whole board, it works but the battery connector needs soldering...

i just want the cache chips, JBrian

if you would send them that would be very

anti_seen , if it is new enough to have pci slots, it might have the welded on type cache
anyway, a newer board like that might be useful for the whole board, hmmm....

I'm not real sure that it works I haven't tried to boot it in a year or two its just been setting in the corner with all the other stuff I don't use anymore (I think that board came from the first machine I ran Linux on ), but if you want it you're welcome to it. I still have a chip in it too, don't know if it works either though.

I'm not going to be at the next meeting actually, new job at Sprint has me working 3PM-12AM. Hopefully I'll be able to get a different schedule, or switch shifts with someone in time for the meeting after next.

I have a whole 486 comp I could send you, or I'll send just the MainBoard. The comp still works, I just don't use it. Let me know. You can have it for shipping costs only, I can send it discounted UPS through work.

i emailed, but you can hold off, after sleeping on it, if this mobo i have it toast, there isn't any point to putting cache on it

and if i have to replace the whole mobo, i will probably go with the fastest AT board i can get for <$20 or whatever

thanks to everyone for the help/offers!

If you want to run by and check out this board then mail me (anti_seen@hushmail.com), I should be around today and most of this weekend.

FoBoT-
I've got a 486 mobo that I need to get rid of - if you haven't gotten what you need yet, let me know. It's an old PB p.o.s. that I stripped out - it still works (and has a processor on it even!) but it's one of them goofy setups w/the expansion slots on a riser card so I've got no use for the darn thing!
