    what onboard video does good in linux and what mobo is it on?

    All I need are for it to POST and play movies.

    you going to buy a MB and you dont care what it is, just as long as it has some sort of onboard video that is able to POST and play movies?

    what kind of movies? Do you need high resolution etc etc...

    I have found most Via cards work. that and the NForce, but then their is the whole binary drive thing for the chipset.

    I'm looking for cheap here. Like if something uses onboard Trident or S3 and those work ok in linux, that's good. 800x600 is about what I expect the in the way of resolution. Avi & Mpeg- I don't think I'll be installing a DVD player. If onboard Intel graphics will work for my purposes, I'll go with that.

    Things that I'm looking for in the board- motherboard supports K6-2, onboard video and sound that run in linux, sdram chipset.
    Its also fine if the board is for slower celerons or duron spitfires.
