    nvidia tweaking.

    alright.

i installed the nvidia drivers last night and installed UT2003, which ran great
right now i installed quake3 and played it a bit.

    i have a geforce 3 ti 200

i noticed in quake3 by clicking on "driver detailes" button that texture compression isnt activated

well, i know that this would bring some additional performance...

and also i would like to check if anti alias is deaktivated and agp 4x....

    but there??

    thanks for any help

    ok, i figured out
    its shift+'

but when i type timedemo 1
it says that cheat isnt allowed.
    this must be punk buster
but i think i need this one to play online.
no other way to view the frame rate?

the "sync every frame" doesnt work, whatever that means. at least it doesnt show my fps.

You can either enable the FPS option by bringing down the console and typing "/cg_drawFPS 1" (No Quotes) or you can flag it to a "1" to turn it on in your config files.

Just find this line and make the value 1.

    seta cg_drawFPS "1"

If it's not there, I guess you could paste it in there.
Your config files are under your user directory in a hidden folder called .q3a.

    Eg: /home/yourname/.q3a/baseq3/q3config.cfg

I don't think you want to have the "sync every frame" oprtion on.

that frame thing doesnt work very well..

the first number is 9 the second isnt readable.
sometimes in front of the 9x appears a 1.
so id say i got a fps between 90 and 100

but the strange thing about it is that it never changes.
whatever i do.. whereever i am, however i shake my head :-)

but 100 fps are ok for me lol

    gonna try some q3mods now.

The flag works fine I'd say that your monitor is probably set a little off and "hiding" the other number.
Readjust your monitor's size. Not so much your resolution but with the controls on the front (or perhaps try another resolution). I think you may be missing out on the right side of the game

I would agree that you are at 90+ to 100+ and that is why it doesn't appear to change. That's a good thing. basically it is saying that you would have to hit 89 before you saw a change. I'm usually at 90-100 and don't have any issues playing at all at 1600x1200x32.
