Thank you for starting this site. From the feeling I get, it is time to make a personal archive of the NHF's.
By the way, GO GATORS!

Thank you for starting this site. From the feeling I get, it is time to make a personal archive of the NHF's.
By the way, GO GATORS!
I guess I better put my denial aside and say goodbye then.
It's really upsetting. I've been here since forever ago it seems, and Sensei was there all the while. I've had opportunity to correspond with him off the site, and he's been nothing but encouraging - true to the mission of the site at all times. The guy is a gem.
When I came here, I was lost. I had been aimlessly hacking around with Linux for 6 months, and this place dramatically improved my learning curve. Now, I'm a Linux/UNIX Systems Engineer and a 'posthumusly published' writer about Linux related 'stuff'. I would not have been able to do so much in such a short period of time without his efforts toward running this site both fairly and flawlessly.
I don't know the circumstances surrounding his leaving, but I hope that the result is that another door, previously unseen, has opened to bring you even bigger and better challenges.
...And I hope you make lotsa $$$$ doin' it, too! :)
Sad to see you go.

That'll wipe out my grins for a bit.
Sayonara ...
All the best to you and your other half ... Hopefully the day will come when I can put a face to the alias ...
(I think I could use a decent HP/UX admin at work .... *chortle* ... )
I trust, Sensei, that you will keep us up to date in your future endevors??
Damm you Dam you to hell, You raise me from a newbie to a know-it-all, an know this. What the hell am I suppose to do now? I first joined linuxnewbie as a oracle recruiter, I am now a Unix sysadmin with a dual-display enlightenment wm linux box and a personel SGI os to play with. Where do I go from here? What will we do with out you? How will I make it , who will i yell at about religion gun control and those worthless liberal democraps? Oh well, I quess that I am all grown up now. I quess that my next step is into the relm of literacy. Maybe I will learn to type and spell at the same time.
Lots of huggs and kisses to you and your wife,
Goodluck in the furture.
slayer17 :)
This is the same crap internet.com pulled over at Hardware Central. God I hate that company. Best of luck.

I... I feel lost. I feel like the world has come to and end and there really is no tommoro. Damn internet.com! Damn them for taking away our loved ones. Who do they think they are? Just walk into our lives and take take take but never give :(

:(
Good luck and all that smeg. cya arround
I can't explain it, but this announcement has moved me to the point of tears. Over the past year and a half, this site and its community have meant an incredible amount to me. Though I ventured out to other sites and bulletin boards, this is the only one I've come back too. The people and atmosphere here are amazing. To me, LNO has been a home, a place to go in boredom, frustration, sadness, and happiness. I've shared good times and bad with the people here, and I feel like something important will be lost with Sensei's departure.
I can't say I didn't see it coming. When LinuxGirl left, I knew things were on the way out.
Come to think of it, the above is a pretty good reason for being moved to tears. This place has been a place of warmth, security, learning, and growth, but like all good things, this too must come to an end.
Goodbye, Sensei, and Godspeed. I wish you well in the rest of your life.
Best of luck, Sensei. If you've achieved one thing with linuxnewbie.org, it has been to create an atmosphere for newbies (especially from Windows) that is helpful, friendly, and most importantly, encouraging.
Cheers.
If you guys are looking for a newbie-friendly Linux Web site, (in light of LNO's cloudy future) try Linux Orbit. It's a desktop site, mostly KDE, Gnome & the rest, but quite newbie-centric.
Oh, well... my $0.02
<formal bow> Good bye Sensei. You will be greatly missed, that I am sure of. As it must be, we the linux newbies must master our world ourselves and move on, and teach newbies of our own.
You have my upmost respect, and I hope your real life is as good as it sounds. I may see you one day, as my plans seem fixed around florida lately. As they say in disneyland.. it's a small, small world.
I have no doubt that this site will continue it's course relativly unscathed, but you know how these things change... it will never be quite the same. We are linux users though, and are resilant. If this site dissapears, then another will grow from it's ashes.
...
Farewell, Sensei, thank you, thank you so much for all you have given.
....and I just got here. Wish you luck!
May the Penguin follow you everywhere.
Before sensei@LNO will be cutoff soon, I would like to say Good luck on everything you want to do to your self and to your family!! And before this site will also be cutoff (I hope not!) I want to say something even if nobody is interested on this, but you know when I start using linux I've ask for help on some of linux forums and linux irc channels but they're not as helpful as this community has, maybe Im just asking a very basic questions that those 3ll!73, linux guru would'nt mind or maybe it will just waste their time if they'll answer my question. But this site is very helpful it does'nt matter on the level of the question from the very basic to advance, this community will hand-in-hand in sharing their opinions. Hope this community and this kind of community will continue forever.
Sensei thank you very much for having this virtual community.
