Yes, very true. Yet we're probably still motivated to fold to a big degree because of the reward (i.e. certificate) and competition (e.g. passing Microsoft), two of the most basic mechanisms in psychology to motivate people to get a job done. It keeps us motivated in the short run so we're more likely to meet the big goal in the long run.Quote:

I'm not afraid of an open scientific project like this one because it has to answer to a board of ethics before it can even get started plus being scrutinized by other scientists and the public. The problem is research beyond public knowledge, like e.g. the Raelians have (at least) claimed to have succeeded at.
