Installing Diamond MX300 Vortex Drivers

This is how I got my Diamond Monster Sound MX300 to work in Linux.
<ol>
<li>Go to http://sourceforge.net/projects/aureal and then click on drivers and download the driver.

<li>Untar the file by typing
<pre><font color="FF0000">tar xzf <<i>filename
of driver></i></font></pre>
<li>Change directory to the new directory created by un-tarring the file by typing
<pre><font color="FF0000">cd <i><name of directory created></i></font></pre>
<li>If you have a Vortex 2-based card, type
<pre><font color="FF0000">make install</font></pre></ol>
You should not have to restart your machine.
