KDE 4.4.3 is running fine for me in Slackware 64. It has one minor bug that appeared when I upgraded from 4.3 in the way it handles closing the lid on my laptop. Of course my desktop is unaffected.

I use a Canon MX700 with my linux computer. It work via USB or with the built-in ethernet port, with some tweaking.

Another "easy" Slackware distro is Zenwalk Linux.
I Like it a LOT better then Vector, and the install is easier.
