Because the ram and the board are both DDR2 wont the clock speed of the ram lower down to the board's speeds? This is what I am not sure on.

thanks for the info, but why was /var/log/wtmp file gone? does it get deleted every month or something? Ive read that wtmp file is one of the first files they delete to cover their tracks.

running "modprobe fglrx" gives me no errors, MTRR is enabled in the kernel and dmesg doesnt show up with anything.
oo and yes my card is supported its a 9600 pro radeon.
