It doesn't BSOD very often, but it hangs like a b*tch! Also, their budgets have been an order of magnatude greater than Linux's even before Linux was created, but it still isn't up to Linux's...

You can install Gentoo FROM Knoppix!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can use ANY Linux distro (like Knoppix, the Gentoo live cd, etc) to install Gentoo!

Redhat 6 or 7, I think (a month).
Redhat 9 (a few weeks)
Debian (a day, not including install)
Gentoo (several months, up to now.)

Gentoo is a lot of fun, but I don't recommend it, unless you are a seasoned warrior with the CLI.

You might want to try Gentoo, but expect a REALLY long compile time (and a 15% faster distrobution). And OOo really /should/ have 64mb of ram, or, preferably, 128mb.
