mke2fs /dev/hda1
instead of
mke2fs /dev/hdb1


/dev/hda1 was my windows XP install....

i am using debian right now on my gateway solo 5300. Nothing special to get everything working. Most of it just works except for the modem, but a simple pcmcia modem card works great tho in place...

check the CD's packages, i am sure they must have at least xine which comes with the codecs. Then it is just a matter of opening the movies with xine.

make sure you have the latest NVIDIA drivers.

I had a prob with them too, but i just d/led the latest ones and they worked fine with 2.6.

Also an apt-get update should help you too either way...

it started happening after kde froze

ok...so i got through the gentoo install, everything seems to be working, got it to boot to the command prompt, i type emerge kde to install kde right? ok...so some hours later it finnaly finnishes...

i just finnished installing gentoo, after following the manual from their website uber precisely...

but when i boot it up without the CD, everything boots fine untill it comes to a section where...

all of the above did not fix it, the network works fine when i plug it in (NOTE: network goes thru same router) cardmgr picks it up fine when it boots up, it seems it just can't find my wireless...
