Generally, I notice if I install MSXP and Suse, and install Ubuntu last- then Ubuntu will set it up so I can boot to all three.
-
This is what I have to occasionally use on my system:
sudo killall pulseaudio; sudo alsa force-reload
-
I've never had a problem deleting files like this with Nautilus.

I voted "More info on how to run studios (film/animation/audio) with Linux solutions."
There are ridiculously few video tutorials on using programs like cinerrela and synfig studio.

Are those darn internet code steelers back again for 2008? Arrrrrrg!

So saikee, ever thought about trying to break your 145 boot record?
I'm sure there's no Guinness World Records category for this, but I would be willing to bet that so far you are in the lead. :)

The size is around the main components.

I have 3 old 15 inch CRT monitors and I'd like to give them away for zero dollars. If you want one (or all) of them, I live near Zephyrhills Florida (USA), and you must be willing to come pick...

cybertron is right. A good challenge is probably about 100-20 lines of code or less.
Here is a common problem:
Write a program that takes an unsigned integer, and outputs it in binary form.

- bzip2 gives a LOT better compression if there are huge amounts of zeros and/or ones in a row.
- gzip sometimes (very rarely) gives better compression.

i845, You could compress the partition image with a command similar to this:

Cool, thanks for the info. :)

I am back. I want to say thank you very much to everyone who replied to this thread!
To Satanic Atheist:
Thanks for your advice on selling the unit. I was just going to toss it, but maybe it can...

wtf? dkeav, you are now officially an avatar freak. You, je_fro, and JThundley should have you're own little sick club or something.

Funny, both threads. :)
I completely understand the point of view from both sides. The main problem is spx2's obvious lack of social skills. I feel for him because I know how it can be. On this...

Right now I'm comparing my options between the UltBootCD and dd_rescue.
I found a program on SourceForge called myrescue that may be better than dd_rescue (for my purposes).
About the freezer...

Ok, decided on what to do: use the tools from Western Digital. I found out they offer a LiveCD of their recovery tools. :D :D :D
1. I downloaded the CD.
2. I burned the CD.
3. I booted the CD....

Thanks for the advice, Saikee. Just before you posted I removed the drive from my system completely until I decide which route I will choose.
-
Also, if anyone has info on getting data off the drive, even if the BIOS doesn't recognize it, that would be appreciated.
-
My uncle runs a PC repair center and I asked him about it. He said get the exe tools from the Western Digital website:
http://support.wdc.com
And recover the data with a Microsoft system.
That...
