    portable drives

    i am a major fan of portable flash drives i have a pen drive and an mmc reader and a creative muvo pen drive and i would like to know how to get gnome to read them and kde to be able to write to them
    i want to learn linux but i need serious help

    USB devices

    These devices are xwindows independent. Either Gnome or KDE should be able to read / write.

    Not knowing what specific problems you are having it is hard to provide suggestions or help. What distro are you running? These devices use SCSI emulation and have a device of sdx1. Also normally they are already formated as FAT devices. You need to load the usb modules.

    There are lots of previous post on the subject that might provide additional information.

    im using mandrake 9.1 and i use the kde and gnome interfaces interchangably can you give me the links of the previous
    posts that would be greatly appreciated thanks
