i want to duel boot with my win me disks and i also want to put mandrake 9.1 with it on my harddrive is it possible to use the linux partition manager to seperate my hard disk so i can use the empty space on my harddrive so i can have both win me and mandrake 9.1 on it while windows is still installed
yes this is possible but your post is a little confusing...
add a reply listing each hardrive and what's installed on them ie windows, linux, etc. and it will be easier for someone to help you..
Well, see, when you get to the choice, some people have a duel in their minds - windows? linux?... hmmm.... linux? windows? uh... windows? linux? And, eventually one of them wins out and the boot continues.
Somebody should write a little graphical script to replace the bootup screen and have the available OS'es appear and start shooting at each other and the OS left standing after the 'duel' gets the boot sequence. Of course, the outcome would be random. You'd have to choose your OS and then hope you can outshoot the other OS's avatar...
(sorry, I can't actually answer your 'dual' boot question in this case.)
Edit: Hey, and the original poster is a 'soldier'. Apparently, he and a lot of other people would play the 'Duel Boot' game. Here's the results of searching on 'duel and boot':

yes, the lack of spelling skills on this forum (and others) = terrible - and i don't include obvious typos in "spelling" - and i don't include non-native english speakers.

In answering the actual question for once , you can resize your hard drive partitions in the Mandrake 9.1 installation, leaving enough room for both OSes, though I can't see why you'd need Windows except for games...
And anyway, in a duel between Windows and Linux, Linux would win while Windows was trying to contact its software designers to copy it.
