redhat 9.0 locking up

I am a linux beginner. I recently installed redhat linux 9.0 from CD's made from ISO images downloaded off of one of their mirrors. The installation was very easy; to include setting up my ADSL account. My only problem is my machine seems to lock up on occasion. Anyone have an idea on what I am doing wrong?

We can't help you untill you give us more information, like: what software you have running at the time of the lock-ups, what services you have running in the background, what hardware you have, etc. etc.

Here is a search for "freezes", most of the problems are with Red Hat 9. Hope you fix it.
