    Operating System: RedHat 9 (from Win2000)

    Browsing the Web: galeon

    Jammin to the tunes: XMMS

    Instant Messaging: Gaim

    Word processing: KWord

    Quick gaming fix: nethack (Definitely check this out)

    Card games: Aisle Riot

    Image Editing: The GIMP

    Movies/Video Media: Xine

    P2P Filesharing: Gnutella

    Managing Processes: KDE System Guard

    There's more, but this list is getting longish. Hope this eases some transitions.

    OS: Mandrake 9.1
    Browsing the web: Mozilla 1.4
    Tunes: XMMS
    IM: Gaim
    Office Suite: OpenOffice.org
    Movies/DVDs: MPlayer
    Games: Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Unreal Tournament...none of this WineX crap
    Programming: VIM

    Interesting to see similarities and differences. :-)

    Web: Galeon 1.2.5 (I uninstalled 1.3.3 and found the 1.2.5 package from MDK 9.0) w/KGet as a download manager

    Music: XMMS (assuming I can get my sound working again)

    Instant messaging: Kopete

    Word processing: KWord or AbiWord

    Image editing: GIMP

    Filesharing: GTK-Gnutella (tried Kazaa Lite under WINE, didn't work)

    FTP: gFTP

    Text editor: Pico or Kate, depending on whether I feel like a text-based or a graphical editor

    Mail: Mozilla Thunderbird

    IRC: XChat

    Games: Nethack-Falconseye, ArmageTron, LBreakout2, KPat

    Programming: KDevelop (w/gcc)

    Terminal: Konsole
