Why do all the KDE panels look huge after turning on anti-aliasing?

All i did was turn on anti-aliasing support in kcontrol, and now for some reason all the pop up panels are huge. Here is a pic:

If i start kcontrol as root, the panels are normal size:

What gives? The panels barely even fit on the screen. I tried turning off anti-aliasing, but the panel stays the same humungous size.

Using Debian Sid, 2.6.0 stable, KDE 3.1.4. Resolution is set at 1024x768x24

Go into the fonts module (under appeance) and make sure all your fonts are at the correct sizes. I would think you don't want to much bigger then 12

    Otherwise I'm not quite sure
