    Kernel 2.6

    Hi
I have read some articles about the new version of kernel.2.6,this version does sound excelent and intresting but there is a little question here:
Will my old programms and configurations work with new kernel? If I upgrade it,or i will need to get the new version of software for the new kernel.
    thanks

No. Everything should work as normal. (unless there are some peculiar exceptions I don't know about)

Check the requirements for the 2.6 kernel first as you may need to upgrade some of your development packages and add one or two others in order to compile the 2.6 kernel and have it boot and load modules properly.
