    Blending Tracks in K3B

Nero had a way to do this, but I have been able to figure out how to do this in K3B. I want to blend tracks -- one into the other, so there's no breaks in my songs while I'm listening to them on CD.

Did I just completely miss it in the options, or is this not even possible?

    Thanks

I don't know about blending tracks, but you can burn with DAO (Disc At Once) which eliminates the 2 second pause between tracks.

Yeah...I noticed that. But, Nero merged/blended the tracks so nicely together. I do miss that.

Ah well, I'll keep searching around.

    Thank you, though.

Not sure if this will help you on your search or not. But the term you should be searching for is probably "Cross-fading". That might help you out along your search. You might not be able to find anything that is directly integrated into k3b. But you might be able to find some obscure application that does it.

Okay, thanks. Well, I did a pretty good search and it does not appear that k3b crossfades. I'll head on IRC tonight and see if anybody knows of another program that can do this. (Although...I was *really* hoping K3B did.)

I'm wondering if it's possible to use XMMS w/ it's crossfading features and have the music be output as one huge WAV file. Hmmm...anybody know if this is possible?

Since I always like to respond if I solve the problem (and I never did to this one) I'm bringing it back from the dead.

Yes, if you have the XMMS Crossfade plugin, you can tell it to write one big wav file to disk and it will. So, give that shot and then just burn the wav file to CD.

Works wonders. However, you can't use CD-Text which is kind of annoying. Well, I placed a feature request in the K3B mailing list. Hopefully they add it in.
